When someone mentions the name Emma Watson the first thing that springs into most peoples minds would be Harry Potter and Emma's character Hermione Granger. I am not ashamed to admit that I am a big fan of the Harry Potter books and films, probably because I was only 12 or 13 when the books first came out, so its as if I have grown up with them.

Watson auditioned for the part of the 11 year old Hermione Granger when she was just 9 years old so for more than half her life she has played this character who is almost identical to Emma's own character. The lines have become blurred between who Emma is and who Hermione is because of the fact that Emma has made Hermione a part of herself.
On her 18th birthday Emma was given control of her trust fund and is rumoured to have came into a fortune of £10 million, however unlike many girls her age she took a course on how to handle large amounts of money and how to invest wisely.
I think this says a lot for Emma's character, personally if I had just been handed over £10 million I would be straight over to Vivienne Westwood for a serious shopping spree. However it is a well-known fact that Emma is a fan of the labels and with a taste for Chanel, I would well imagine that she is quite happily working her way through her millions.
On the topic of Emma Watson and fashion it is clear that she has become quite the fashion icon with top designers, such as Christopher Bailey of Burberry and Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, all wanting a piece of her. She has also signed a lucrative contract with London modelling agency Storm and this has secured her an exciting deal with Burberry as the face of their new advertising campaign, not only that but she is the only female face in this campaign.
As for her connection with Chanel the rumours have not yet been confirmed as to whether or not she will be fronting their advertising campaign. It is true that she has had several meetings and photoshoots with Lagerfeld himself and he has described her as a natural beauty who doesn't have to think about her sense of style. Lagerfeld's influence on her fashion sense has naturally elevated her in fashion circles at home and abroad, in fact on a recent trip to Paris for Fashion Week she was mauled by screaming fans and she actually felt less hassled at London Fashion Week.
Her fashionable circle of friends include all the usual front row guests such as Alexa Chung and Emma has become quite accustomed to attending fashionable parties, designer showcases and exclusive fashion events and having met with many of the worlds most exciting fashion designers and fashion editors they all now have a firm opinion of her.
She has been described as a designer's dream, a mix of old fashioned Hollywood meets modern cutting edge. Christopher Kane has even described her as a classic English rose almost reminiscent of Grace Kelly. This is not unlike descriptions that were made of Kiera Knightly when she first hit the big time and was then signed as the face of Coco Mademoiselle.
I can see a lot of similarities between Emma and Kiera. Both have that classic look, pale flawless skin with a hint of rose in the cheeks, tall and willowy figure and an air of sophistication. It is not surprising then that Emma has been tipped to be the next face of Chanel and only time will tell if Lagerfeld's hard work will end with Emma fronting a future campaign.
What will the future have in store for Emma? The Harry Potter films are coming to an end with only two more films left to release (the final book is to be made into two films) and she is set to return to some sort of normality by going to University.
After being in the spotlight from the age of nine it is clear that Emma wants to take some time out and pursue other options rather than put all her eggs into one basket. It will be very strange to see the end of the Harry Potter era. It will no doubt leave a large gap in the lives of many children, teenagers and adults but the biggest gap will I am sure be felt by the cast itself.
Only time will tell what Emma and the gang will do with their lives but of one thing I am certain, Emma will have many years of fashion ahead of her, that being modelling, mixing with fashion royalty and perhaps in time even launching her own range.
